Program Description
EKU has had teacher preparation programs for Career and Technical Education since the Department’s historical beginning. Programs available include Technical Education, Engineering/Technology Education, and Occupational Training and Development. EKU has one of the largest and most comprehensive technical education programs in the State. The Engineering/Technology Education option is a unique, high-demand program that prepares teachers for middle schools and high schools — an enjoyable teaching area that has many employment opportunities in Kentucky and other nearby states. The Department is located in the Ralph W. Whalin Technology Complex, which includes approximately 100,000 square feet of classroom and laboratory space.

Program Description
The Engineering and Technology Education bachelor’s degree program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). As an Engineering and Technology Education graduate, you will be prepared to teach in technology education programs that are offered in most middle and secondary schools.
